One of the first things I heard about Abordage was its employees:
Abordage has 27 employees, a quarter of whom is deaf-mute.
Persons with handicap are not usually well treated in Dominican-Republic
and don’t have many chances for a professional future. So Abordage did a
good-deed giving many jobs to deaf-mutes of San-Cristobal, which are as
smart as us, even though Dominican people usually think otherwise.

Abordage deaf-mutes are very kind and hard workers; they always do their
utmost to build exemplary models and they take an interest in their work.

I started my internship with a deaf-mute called Pedro. Very attentive to all
my work, he helped me and taught me how to realize a plank on bulkhead half-hull. Also six other fellows were taking care of me and quickly gave me a funny name in their language. It was a great experience, I learnt a lot. Thanks!
