World Champion Geoff Becker ordered a framed half model of his Lightning from Abordage
Hailing from Southern California, Geoff grew up sailing one design boats out of Dana Point and Newport Beach. In 1993, he began his coaching career at UC Santa Barbara and spent the next 16 years coaching teams at the University of Southern California, St. Mary's College of Maryland, and finally at Washington College.
Geoff's track record in the Lightning, J/24, and J/70 classes highlight his one design sailing background.
Abordage built the one design model within a few weeks, using its know-how and its passion to create this unique ship model according to Geoff Becker's request.
The hull is made of resin and the mast from aluminium. Scale 1/15 or 14" LOA.
A painstaking attention to detail is the trademark of the factory, an ongoing commitment to excellence is the feature of Abordage.
The Lightning, a 19-foot trailerable centerboard sloop, was originally designed by Sparkman & Stephens as an affordable family day-sailor and racing boat.
