There was a crowd in attendance at the launch of the third America’s Cup defender designed and built by the Herreshoff brothers.
As ever, the boat has been built in an utmost secrecy, forbidding the access of the yard to every journalists and photographers.
This time the defender helm was put in the hands of Charles Barr.
This was the first time that the famous Scottish skipper, living in he States for some years , had been entrusted with a defender. ‘Captain Nat’ was going to be his skipper.

Cynthia:
My order of your model of COLUMBIA 1899 was received in perfect shape and timely fashion and is now proudly on display in our great room. We receive many compliments an its beauty and accuracy and it is a great starting point for discussions of the America’s Cup and sailing in general.
We are so pleased that we have just ordered three more smaller models and look forward to continuing our collection of your models. They are absolutely gem-like and represent an outstanding value.
Again, many thanks for your wonderful craftsmanship and taste.

I recently purchased a ship model and display case from Abordage. Both are beautifully built and the model is expertly detailed for its scale. I had a third party shipping problem that I mentioned to Denis, one of the owners. He called me to offer a solution at his expense. During construction of the case, we traded frequent messages in order to get the details to my liking. Their communications and customer service were stellar. They have been a pleasure to work with and I intend for Abordage to construct a custom model of my present boat. I am sure it be a true representation of her beauty.
