Il s’agit du deuxième projet de classe J de Nicholson et du deuxième grand yacht de Stephenson.
« Velsheda » a été nommé d’après les trois filles de Stephenson, Velma, Sheilaet Daphne. Elle a couru avec les plus grands noms du yachting classique, dont Britannia, Endeavour et Shamrock V entre 1933 et 1936.
Il a été désarmé en 1937 et a été relancé après une reconstruction complète en 1997-97.
En 2010, elle appartient à l’homme d’affaires néerlandais Ronald de Waal, de la chaîne de mode européenne WE (anciennement HIJ/HEY/ZIJ).

The model of the Velsheda is absolutely magnificent, great model making art, I am absolutely thrilled. Unfortunately, the model delivered does not exactly match the picture on the website (the rear flag is missing, for example), hence 4.5 stars out of 5.
Unfortunately my model (I live in Europe) arrived with damage during transport. Abordage can’t do anything about that, so no criticism. However, the repair process took months and involved enormous effort. In the end, there was small residual damage left, which somewhat clouded my experience with the model. And then the communication stopped.
Therefore only 1 star out of 5, overall 3. Abordage, there is room for improvement.
